Introducing Donkey Kid: the rising indie artist and producer hailing from Berlin who is quickly making a name for himself with his catchy tunes. Like many of his peers, Donkey Kid first started producing music in the comfort of his own bedroom, with his early works quickly gaining traction on Soundcloud. With his sound reminiscent of both classic Beatles tunes and 80s synthpop, Donkey Kid’s music is both nostalgic and fresh at the same time. This unique style has caught the attention of many in the Berlin DIY scene, as from Marco Kleebauer (producer of Bilderbuch), who produced Donkey Kid’s debut EP „Distant Shouts“ in 2022. Featuring five bittersweet indie miniatures, „Distant Shouts“ showcases Donkey Kid’s exceptional songwriting talent and confidently tackles the challenges of our post-pandemic present. With a promising future ahead of him, Donkey Kid is quickly gaining attention both online and offline.

 

In addition to playlist features on Spotify like “Best of Indie Brandneu 2021”, Donkey Kid has already headlined shows in London and Berlin. He has also performed at prestigious showcases such as the Reeperbahn Festival in Germany and Eurosonic in the Netherlands, and even landed a spot at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland in 2022. Donkey Kid has been featured in international online publications such as Wonderland, who quote: “When attempting to break into the music scene, an artist’s primary offerings sets the tone for the career ahead of them. And, if bedroomproducer Donkey Kid’s latest cut is anything to go off, it can be assumed that he is about to catapult towards musical stardom.” He has also received radio support from the likes of KEXP legend Kevin Cole and Amazing Radio US, with his tracks „Distant Shouts“ and „The Girl Outside“ receiving A-list rotation. Donkey Kid is clearly an artist to watch, and we can’t wait to see what he has in store for us next.
